Doyle Bartlett served for five years as Chief of Staff to Representative Bill McCollum (R-FL), supporting Congressman McCollum’s work as Vice Chairman of the House Banking Committee and Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee’s Crime Subcommittee.  In this role, he managed all aspects of the Congressman’s Washington, DC and district offices.  Before founding Bartlett & Bendall, he was a Senior Vice President at the Smith-Free Group.  He is an active political fundraiser and contributor, and oversaw Bill McCollum’s race for the U.S. Senate in 1999-2000.

From 1988 to 1994, Bartlett was General Counsel and Senior Vice President for Legislative Services with the Conference of State Bank Supervisors, the professional association of state banking regulators.  Before joining CSBS, Bartlett was Manager of State Government Relations at Freddie Mac.

Bartlett came to Washington in 1984 as staff to the House Banking Committee, supporting Congressman Bill McCollum in his position as ranking member of the Subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy.  He had previously served as McCollum’s district representative in Orlando, Florida. 
A Florida native, Bartlett holds a business degree from the University of Florida and a law degree from the National Law Center at George Washington University.  Bartlett is a member of the Bar in both Oklahoma and the District of Columbia.

Jennifer Bendall has more than a decade of experience in entertainment policy and intellectual property issues.  She most recently served as Senior Vice President for Legislative Affairs at Vivendi Universal, a global media and entertainment company.  At Universal, Bendall provided strategic advice on policy issues to top executives in the company’s film, music, television and theme park divisions, including Universal Studios Orlando.  She also represented the company before Congress, the White House, and many state and local governments.

Before joining Universal in January 2000, Bendall spent nine years with the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), where she was Senior Vice President for Government Affairs. 

Bendall’s Washington career began with the Wexler Group, a Washington, DC lobbying firm.  During her time there, she took a leave of absence to return to her home state of Alabama, in order to work on the successful U.S. Senate campaign of then-Representative Richard Shelby.  Bendall later served for several years on Senator Shelby’s staff as a key policy advisor.Bendall earned her undergraduate degree at Georgetown University, where she was a scholar athlete and captain of the women’s basketball team.  She holds a law degree from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America. 

Mark Kadesh has sixteen years of experience on Capitol Hill.  For the past seven years he has served as Chief of Staff to Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA).  He previously served as Legislative Director for Senator Feinstein, handling issues ranging from tax, commerce, environmental regulations, water, energy, finance, trade and appropriations.  Prior to that Kadesh served as Chief of Staff to Representative Jane Harman (D-CA) and as a Legislative Assistant for Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY). 

From San Francisco, Kadesh is a Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Brandeis University and received a Master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

Shayne Gill served for seven years as Legislative Director to Representative Spencer Bachus (R-AL) and for five years as Legislative Assistant.  Shayne supported Congressman Bachus’ work on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee specializing in the aviation, highways and railroad subcommittees.  During his tenure, Shayne played an integral role in the passage of the National Highway System Designation Act of 1995, the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (or TEA-21) and most recently worked on the re-authorization of this legislation.

In addition to transportation issues, Shayne was responsible for all appropriation requests for Congressman Bachus and other legislative issues such as energy, environment, tax, and budget.  In this role, he worked with counties and municipalities in the Congressman’s district, as well as those throughout the state to assist their efforts to secure federal funding for priority projects.  Shayne is an expert in both the authorization and appropriation processes.Prior to coming to Washington, DC – Shayne served on Congressman Bachus’ first campaign for Congress in Birmingham, Alabama and received a B.A. in Social Sciences and Education from the University of Montevallo in Alabama.

Greg Mesack has seven years experience working on Capitol Hill. A graduate from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Greg used his political science and history major to begin his professional career on the hill. He worked as Congressman Wally Herger's staff assistant, and then moved to the House Republican Conference to further his political career as a legislative analyst for members of Congress.

In February of 2001, Greg began work for Congressman Bob Ney as his legislative assistant performing tasks for the Financial Services Committee. Soon there after, Greg moved to legislative director where he oversaw Congressman Ney's legislative staff and operations.

In 2004 Greg left Capitol Hill to work at America's Community Bankers, a trade association representing banks across the nation. He was promoted to Director of Government Relations in 2006 and promoted to Vice President in 2007.   Also in 2006, Greg graduated from George Washington University with a Masters of Business Administration, specializing in finance.

Laurie Gravatt joined Bartlett & Bendall as Legislative Affairs Director from the Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc., where she was an integral part of NASDAQ’s government relations office serving as Legislative Assistant for over two years.  At NASDAQ, Gravatt focused on securities issues in her lobbying of the Hill.  Gravatt also coordinated congressional staff trips and Member visits to NASDAQ’s MarketSite in Times Square New York for market openings and other events. She served as NASDAQ’s PAC Administrator and as a liaison between senior management in New York and Capitol Hill. 

Before joining NASDAQ, Gravatt was a staffer from 1999 to 2001 for Congressman Spencer Bachus (R-AL), Chairman of the Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee of the House Financial Services Committee and senior member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, as well as the Judiciary Committee. Gravatt graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and Sociology from Birmingham-Southern College in Alabama.  

Amy Bouldin a Virginia native, recently joined the Bartlett, Bendall and Kadesh team in July of 2007 as a Government Affairs Associate. She earned her undergraduate degree in 2006 from East Carolina University in North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication holding a concentration in Public Relations. She has five years experience in event planning and management in the Restaurant/Catering industry. She oversees the day-to-day operations at Bartlett, Bendall & Kadesh and works on select issues and policies for various clients. She hopes to return to school in the future to receive her Master's degree in Public Policy.
